The quest titled "The Search for Pua" becomes available once players reach friendship level 8 with Moana and complete her previous story tasks. Navigating this multi-step search requires keen observation as you follow glowing tracks across multiple biomes.
Starting the Search for Pua
To initiate the quest, speak with Moana after meeting the required friendship requirements and heading down to Dazzle Beach. Near her fishing boat, you will inspect leftover coconuts that show clear indications of small animal tracks nearby. After discussing the clue with Moana, she suggests searching near areas with fresh water to find out where Pua went next.
Tracking Pua in the Peaceful Meadow
Heading up the slope from Dazzle Beach leads directly into the Peaceful Meadow biome. Players must carefully scan the ground for glowing golden hoof prints that mark Pua's path. Finding these tracks will trigger the next objective, prompting another brief conversation with Moana to analyze the direction the little pig took.
Following the Trail to the Restaurant and Forest
The trail moves from the grassy biome toward Chez Remy, where golden prints and leftover food appear near the restaurant building. Speaking with Moana again directs the search toward the Forest of Valor, where the final leg of the tracking journey unfolds. As you explore near the entrance to the Frosted Heights, you will locate Pua trapped inside dark Night Thorns.
Rescuing Pua and Unlocking Your Companion
Clearing the Night Thorns frees Pua and causes a new Leader Shard to drop onto the ground. Picking up the shard and delivering it to Moana officially completes the quest and restores their partnership. Once finished, players can assign Pua as an active animal companion from the Wardrobe menu to join them on future village adventures.
