Navigating the Kanto region in Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee brings players to many iconic locations, but few are as crucial as the abandoned Power Plant. Hidden away along the waterways of Route 10, this facility houses powerful Electric-type Pokemon and the legendary bird Zapdos. Reaching this area requires specific progress in the main story and the acquisition of a vital Secret Technique.

Unlocking the Sea Skim Secret Technique

Before you can journey to the Power Plant, you must first obtain the Secret Technique known as Sea Skim. This ability replaces the classic Surf HM and allows your partner Pokemon to carry you across bodies of water. You can unlock Sea Skim by visiting Fuchsia City and talking to the surfer standing outside the GO Park Complex.

Once you speak with the surfer, he will teach your partner Pokemon how to glide over water effortlessly. Having this skill is mandatory because the land route to the Power Plant is completely blocked by water channels. Make sure you acquire this ability before setting out toward Route 10.

Route to Route 10 and the Waterway

To begin your trip to the destination, fast travel or walk to Cerulean City as your starting point. Head east from Cerulean City onto Route 9 and fight your way past the various trainers along the path. Continue moving east until you arrive at Route 10, right near the entrance of the Rock Tunnel.

Instead of entering the Rock Tunnel, look for the Pokemon Center located in the area. Just north of this Pokemon Center, you will find a stream of water flowing along the path. Stand near the edge of the water and activate your Sea Skim technique to hop onto the stream.

Navigating the River to the Power Plant

Once you are floating on the water, ride the current southwards following the natural curve of the river. The waterway will lead you past rocky walls and down into a larger open water area. Continue following the path down until you see land on your right side.

Disembark onto the dry land, and you will see the large industrial facility directly in front of you. A Poke Maniac trainer stands near the entrance, serving as a landmark that you have arrived at the correct spot. Walk through the front doors to step inside the dangerous structure.

What to Expect Inside the Power Plant

Inside the facility, you will encounter numerous wild Electric-type Pokemon such as Voltorb, Magnemite, and Electabuzz. Be cautious when picking up item balls on the floor, as some of them are actually disguised Electrodes waiting to attack. Exploring the hallways fully will also reward you with valuable items like TMs and rare evolution stones.

At the deepest section of the building waits the Legendary Pokemon Zapdos. You must defeat Zapdos in a timed battle before you get the opportunity to catch it. Make sure to stock up on Ultra Balls and berries before initiating the encounter.
